DuPage County Tops 7,000 Coronavirus Cases With 338 Deaths

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — As of Sunday, the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) reports 7,063 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 338 deaths. The numbers include 159 new cases since Saturday. County officials say the number of positive cases is "likely much higher" due to cases that are "unreported or untested."
County health officials said one coronavirus-related death was reported since Saturday. The DCHD did not include information about where the woman, who was in her 60s, had been living or whether she had underlying conditions.
The news comes as cases in Illinois reach 110,304. The statewide death toll from coronavirus was at 4,856 as of Sunday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The county's system of reporting shows confirmed coronavirus cases in age groups from 0 through 9 years old to 80 and older. It also includes a breakdown of cases by municipality.

The DuPage County Coroner's Office directed Patch to the DuPage County Health Department for a breakdown of deaths by city, but the health department said it is not releasing that information as of press time.
According to the county's breakdown, the majority of cases have affected those between the ages of 40 and 70, but all age ranges had confirmed cases. Here is the age breakdown as of Sunday evening.
- 0-9 years old: 107
- 10-19 years old: 274
- 20-29 years old: 1,000
- 30-39 years old: 1,100
- 40-49 years old: 1,200
- 50-59 years old: 1,200
