Happy Dog Barkery Prepares for Annual Doggie Paczki Day

While bakeries all over Chicagoland (and beyond) prepare for one of their busiest days making Paczkis for humans, Happy Dog Barkery has come up with a way that your dog can celebrate too.

Paczki for dogs! Using a dog safe recipe, Happy Dog has developed a treat for the dogs that keep them begging for more. They are currently available in four flavors: Peanut Butter, Sweet Potato, Coconut and Chicken. Pre-orders are strongly suggested. Pick-up days are Sun 2/26, Mon 2/27 and Tue 2/28.

Beth Staley, one of the founders of Happy Dog Barkery, watched, year after year, the line of people picking up paczki for humans at the bakery three doors down from their store. Five years ago, she worked with the on-site kitchen at Happy Dog to create something safe for the dogs to enjoy too. “It started out kind of as a joke, but people loved it, and the dogs loved it too. Now everyone looks forward to it each year and we take pre-orders because we make so many” says Staley. “This year we expect to make at least 1,500”.
