House Burglarized, Wallet Stolen At Panera: Downers Grove Blotter

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A house was burglarized, a wallet was stolen at Panera Bread and a car was burglarized at Cooper's Hawk, per the most recent Downers Grove police blotter.

Purse Stolen At Panera Bread

A woman told police her wallet was stolen while she was eating at Panera Bread, 1400 Butterfield Rd., on Nov. 17. She said she left a black bag that had her purse inside it on a chair next to her. She said she made a phone call and then noticed the purse was sitting on the wall bench near a table behind her.

She told police her black leather wallet was not in the purse when she checked. Police say the wallet contained the woman's driver's license, social security card, credit cards and around $400 in cash.

Car Burglarized in 2000 block of Prentiss Drive

Police say a car was burglarized in the 2000 block of Prentiss Drive on Nov. 22. Jewelry and change were stolen from the car, the victim told police.

Car Burglarized at Cooper's Hawk

A car was smashed into and burglarized at Cooper's Hawk, 1801 Butterfield Rd., on Nov. 22. A man told police he parked his car on the north side of the restaurant's parking lot around 6:20 p.m. He got back to his car around 8:50 p.m. to find the passenger side window had been shattered.

Per the police blotter, the man's suitcase was stolen from the car. He told police the suitcase, worth $100, contained the following items:

  • $250 in cash
  • HP Spectre laptop valued at $2000
  • Apple Air Pod set valued at $200
  • Passport
  • Pills in unmarked travel bottle, valued at $2550

House Burglarized in 7400 block of Blackburn Avenue

Police say a house was burglarized in the 7400 block of Blackburn Avenue sometime between late Nov. 22 and early Nov. 23. The resident told police she got home and discovered a flashlight that had been in the living room was now in the kitchen and a magnet had been moved from the refrigerator.

The following items were reported stolen:

  • Yellow diamond butterfly necklace valued at $400
  • Gold watch with diamond accents valued at $800

Police say the woman had left her front door unlocked.
