Now I am offended

An ultimate plea for a new beginning

We begin with Omar Mateen, a 29-year-old American security guard, killed 49 people and wounded 53 others in a terrorist attack inside Pulse , a gay nightclub in Orlando Florida. He was shot and killed by police after a three-hour standoff.

Besides a series of other crimes, the video taping of Alton Sterling Sterling was selling CDs early Tuesday outside the Triple S Food Mart in Baton Rouge, the source said, when the homeless man approached him and asked for money. The man was persistent, and Sterling showed him his gun, the source said.

"I told you to leave me alone," Sterling told the man, according to the source.

The homeless man then used his cell phone to call 911.

A graphic cell phone video of Baton Rouge's police department shows the fatal shooting of Sterling by Baton Rouge police. The video was shared on social media that has created a national outrage.

On Wednesday, a woman streams the fatal shooting by police of Philando Castile's in Minnesota and today, five police officers were killed by snipers in a Dallas protest.

Is that the payback? Has revenge been sought with more families being destroyed?

As a result of the escalated violence, the lack of spiritual intervention, I am offended. I am offended by your face, color and creed. I am offended that you are Muslim, Hispanic,Jewish or Black. I am offended that you are white and disabled. I am offended that you drink. I am offended that you smoke. I am offended that you live next door to me. I am offended that you know what I think....because you always know. Have I left anyone out? Probably.

Is that what we want to create for the future of our children?

I spoke to one young woman who lives in a Christian home that does not believe in God. Why? Because of the outstanding videos we display on social media of hatred, rape violence and prejudice. Why wouldn't God help?

Maybe because we are also offended by in God we trust. And again, I am offended because she does not believe the same and she is related to me.

Should I ignore, hate, disown or kill her? Someone was quite offended when I asked such a question. But she is family.....and your point?

Whether I read from the Torah, Bible. Quran or the Book of Mormons...am I missing any.... I love her and respect her beliefs regardless.

According to all the religious books of the world, love is without boundaries and conditions. We are responsibile to care for each other. Our co-workers, neighbors, friends, our community, city and nation. The homeless man on the street.

You know....I have never heard one say........ that they have been offended by love. Have you?
