60 Degrees Possible With Mid-February Warmth In Chicago Area
Mild temperatures are expected through the middle of next week for the Chicago area.
The milder temperatures this week are set to stick around "through must of next week," according to the National Weather Service.
Typically, average highs for February are in the 30s, but temperatures through the middle of next week will be in the 40s and 50s, and maybe even 60 degrees.
The high for Friday is 53, 55 on Saturday, 56 on Sunday and 58 degrees on Monday, according to the current forecast. There is also little to no chance for meaningful precipitation through the middle of next week, the weather service said.
Highs could even be near or above 60 degrees next Wednesday, the weather service noted. Rain chances will arrive in the middle of next week.
According to weather service data, the average temperatures for mid-February are 28 degrees on Feb. 13, 28.3 degrees on Feb. 14 and 28.6 degrees on Feb. 15, so even highs in the 40s are above average fo this time of year.
