The Downers Grove Historical Society and the Downers Grove Museum are pleased to announce six homes have been recognized under the new Historic Home Program. The addresses of the homes that have been recognized are (photos above starting from top left):

• 5320 Benton Avenue

• 5130 Carpenter Street

• 4540 Highland Avenue

• 4925 Highland Avenue

• 4836 Middaugh Avenue

• 4803 Prince Street.

The Historic Home Program is open to homes which are 50 or more years old and have architectural and/or historical significance to the Village. Owners fill out an application which helps establish original and subsequent ownership through the years, including deed transfers, tax history and other useful information. Recognized homes are given the opportunity to purchase a Historic Home Program plaque for their home. The resulting research is permanently housed at the museum for future generations to learn more about these important architectural structures in our community.
