St. Mary of Gostyn Celebrates Parish-Wide Service Day

More than 170 parishioners came out to offer service to the local, state and international community on October 1, 2016.

More than 170 parishioners came out on October 1, 2016 to do service projects that would benefit not only the local Downers Grove community, but also state and international organizations. People of all ages made centerpieces and cards for the military, rolled bandages for cancer patients in third world countries, constructed bird houses for the Downers Grove Park District, beautified areas around the St. Mary of Gostyn campus, visited senior citizens at Oak Trace Nursing Home and visited veterans at Hines Veteran Hospital. The event was one of many events the parish is offering throughout the year to celebrate its 125th anniversary.
