Best Fundraising Haul In Elmhurst University History

The money is expected to pay for a new building, renovations and scholarships.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst University said Tuesday it just completed the best fundraising campaign in its history, pulling in $55.3 million.

In 2021, the university launched the effort in celebration of its 150th anniversary. It exceeded its goal of $50 million last fall, which was nine months early, according to a news release.

The money is expected to pay for scholarships, construction of a new health sciences building, renovations to campus athletic and recreational buildings, and bolster the school's endowment.

In the fundraising campaign, the university reported receiving more than 20,000 individual gifts from across the country and around the world.

In the news release, the school said it hoped to start construction of the health sciences building in the fall. It also said improvements to Langhorst Field should be done later this summer.
