D205 To Host Building Tours Leading Up To November Referendum

The tours are open to the community and designed as a chance for taxpayers to learn more about the referendum and ask questions.

ELMHURST, IL — District 205 will offer building tours of several campuses in the weeks leading up the referendum bond vote on Nov. 6. According to the district, the tours are open to the community and designed as a chance for taxpayers to learn more about the referendum and ask questions.

The referendum proposition will involve issuing $168,500,000 school building bonds. According to board documents, the proposal would include making improvements including building and equipping two school buildings to replace the Field and Lincoln Elementary School Buildings; proving STEM facilities, adding classrooms for full-day kindergarten; and improving security, energy efficiency and technology infrastructure.

The first tour is set for 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24 at Lincoln School. A Community School Finance Night presentation will follow at 7 p.m. The district said school officials will also be present to discuss the district’s financial picture as well as answer questions.
