Elmhurst Academy Fosters Family and Community Connections

Alumni, families, and staff at Elmhurst Academy stepped into a healthy new school year during the first "Fall into Nature Family Hike" at Fullersburg Woods, Oakbrook. Sponsored by our Project Health and Nature and Gardening committees, families hiked the beautiful trails, and actively engaged in a nature scavenger hunt that had the young naturalists discovering a wide variety of wildlife, nesting songbirds, and even some fall migratory birds on Salt Creek. Families were also encouraged to visit the Fullersburg Woods Nature Education Center, where their children engaged in a variety of hands-on, interactive exhibits and observed native wildlife on display. Not only was this a perfect way for new and returning families to connect, but also fostered the importance of health & wellness in the great outdoors. Elmhurst Academy would like to thank the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County for hosting this family event."
