The Elmhurst Bike Club ran a very successful fundraiser to raise money to purchase specially adapted bicycles for physically challenged children. The Club, along with it's members and friends donated over $11,000 to help these children get mobile on bicycles that have been built by Project Mobility to fit their conditions. Project Mobility is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that builds specialized bicycles for Children and Wounded Warriors with physical disabilities. 100% of all monies donated go to the purchasing of these bikes.

The Bikes will be presented to the seven children at 7:15pm on March 14th at The Elmhurst Community Bank, 330 W. Butterfield Road, Elmhurst, IL. All residents, City Staff, Elected Officials and Teachers are encouraged to attend to see these wonderful children receive their Bicycles. It will be a memorable meeting and you will get goose bumps and shed a tear as these young folks get their bikes. These families have huge medical expenses and there is no room in the budget for an expensive specially adapted bicycle.

This is the third bike giveaway that The Elmhurst Bike Club has organized and funded and we are very honored to give the freedom of cycling to young children that have physical issues that do not allow them to ride a standard bicycle. As President of The Elmhurst Bike Club, our members and friends generosity during this fundraiser fills me with more pride than how fast or far we can ride our bicycles. We strive to make a difference in the Community and have a positive effect on the lives of others.
