This occurred after a woman and two boys attacked a nearby driver, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police appear to be getting fed up with the frequent calls to the Extended Stay America hotel, 550 W. Grand Ave.
On Tuesday, the police department issued the business a chronic nuisance warning.
On Jan. 9, 40-year-old Maria Velez, who was living at the hotel, and two boys were accused of attacking a man driving near the hotel.

Velez stepped into traffic and stopped the 63-year-old man while he was driving, police said. The trio then opened the driver's side door, punched the man in his head and face, and stole his wallet, police said. The man was found bleeding from the head.
On Jan. 12, a 27-year-old man living at the hotel was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after he threatened other guests in the lobby, police said.

The hotel gets 10 days to respond in writing to the city with a plan to eliminate the nuisance.
If property owners receive three or more nuisance warnings within 180 days, they may be charged under a city ordinance and appear before an administrative hearing officer.
If the property is found to be a chronic nuisance, the owners could be charged $500 to $1,000 for each violation.
In another case, police issued a chronic nuisance warning Wednesday to a household in the 100 block of North Willow Road.
It was unclear whether the warning was related to a Jan. 10 incident in that block. A 29-year-old man who lives there was charged at his home with disorderly conduct. Police said the man was drunk and yelling.
