Elmhurst School Dealing With Virus: Agency

ELMHURST, IL — Visitation Catholic School in Elmhurst is apparently dealing with coronavirus cases, but details are unavailable.

While the school has not returned messages for comment, the DuPage County Health Department confirmed the situation over the weekend.

"At this time, we are aware of case activity though we are unable to confirm any specific numbers of cases associated at Visitation School as our investigation is ongoing," spokeswoman Stephanie Calvillo said in an email.

Principal Carrie Mijal has not returned messages for comment.

Visitation, 851 S. York St., serves more than 400 preschool through middle school students.

In Elmhurst School District 205, 52 students and 10 employees have tested positive for the coronavirus since the beginning of the school year.
