ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst Mayor Scott Levin said Monday he has received many complaints about campaign signs in the city's rights of way, known as parkways.

"We are going to take them down on Wednesday," Levin told the City Council. "If anyone has signs in the parkway, they don't belong there. It's city property, except for garage sales, where (a sign) can be up immediately beforehand."

He added, "In future elections, I can tell you that we would want to enforce (the rules) a lot more strictly. We don't want to run into problems. I get complaints on both sides."
