IC Catholic Prep Names Michael Fahey Athletic Director

The next leader of IC Catholic Prep athletics has experience with professional and collegiate sports organizations.

ELMHURST, IL – IC Catholic Prep named its new athletic director this week. It's Michael Fahey, who school officials praise as bringing a wealth of collegiate and professional sports management to Cottage Hill Avenue.

Tom Schergen president and soon-to-be principal of the school, called Fahey the “perfect person to continue to integrate the school mission, including service and faith formation, into our athletic program.

"His strategic vision values academic excellence and integrity, and will engage students, parents, faculty, staff and alumni,” Schergen said.

Fahey is currently a special assistant to UIC Flames head basketball coach Steve McClain. He's worked for several professional and collegiate sports organizations in recent years.

Fahey will start at IC Catholic Prep on July 1.

“It is an honor to join the IC Catholic Prep community where young men and women are prepared to be academically, physically and spiritually fit,” he said. “I am excited about the future of Knights athletics and I look forward to developing a positive and ethical learning environment for all student-athletes and coaches, and to lead by example in promoting the values, mission and community within a Catholic tradition.”
