Man Strikes Nurse At Elmhurst Hospital: Cops

In another case, a woman is charged with child endangerment after a DUI arrest, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police released their latest arrest log Monday. Here is information from the reports:

Aggravated battery

  • Jonathon Niewinski, 28, of Villa Park, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of East First on charges of aggravated battery, DUI, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, unlawful transportation of open alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving with a revoked license. According to a police report, Niewinski got into a single-car crash, ran away and was found shortly after. He was taken to the hospital, where he battered a nurse, police said. He was then taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • Jihan McCrary, 40, of Wood Dale, was arrested about 7 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of West North on charges of DUI, endangering the health or life of a child (two counts), possession of open alcohol by a driver and possession of marijuana by a driver. According to a police report, she had two small children in the backseat. The state Department of Children and Family Services was informed about the incident. A department employee showed up, and the children were placed in the custody of a family member. She was released on bond.

DUI

  • Jimmy Lopez, 35, of Melrose Park, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at North and Emroy on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and speeding. He was released on bond.

Warrants

  • Cyrus Halmon, 28, of River Grove, was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Route 83 and North on five warrants and a charge of illegal use of an electronic communications device. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Driving violations

  • Jonathan Perez, 30, of Chicago, was cited about 4 p.m. Thursday at Route 83 and North on charges of no valid driver's license and possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond.
  • Juan Sevilla, 33, of Chicago, was cited about 11:30 a.m. Friday at Maple and Armitage on charges of no valid driver's license and failure to yield at an intersection. He was released on bond.
  • Quantell Russell, 26, of Chicago, was cited shortly after midnight Saturday at North and Myrtle on charges of no valid driver's license and no license plate light. He was released on bond.
  • Edgar Valladares, 29, of Chicago, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Walnut and North on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. He was released on bond.
  • Rosalba Almarez Urquizo, 37, of Hillside, was cited about 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Charles and Fair on charges of no valid driver's license, speeding and driving an uninsured vehicle. She was released on bond.
