Oak Brook Official Leaves Under Cloud
The deputy chief was barred from the nonpublic areas of village buildings.
OAK BROOK, IL – Oak Brook's deputy police chief left under questionable circumstances in November.
Deputy Chief Reid Foltyniewicz, who started with the police department in 2007, submitted his letter of resignation after about three years in the deputy chief's job.
Shortly after, on Nov. 13, Village Manager Greg Summers emailed police officers that Foltyniewicz was no longer employed with the village as of Nov. 30.

Summers said Foltyniewicz would remain on leave until his last day. In the interim, Foltyniewicz was barred from the nonpublic areas of village buildings.
Patch obtained the email through a public records request.

Patch also sought any complaints against Foltyniewicz or resulting investigatory reports before his resignation.
However, the village denied that part of the request. It cited an exception under state law for "a pending or actually or reasonably contemplated law enforcement proceeding" by the village.
Foltyniewicz was a member of Lombard's Village Board from 2013 to 2021.
According to his LinkedIn page, Foltyniewicz now consults as an "executive risk and security strategy advisor."
Foltyniewicz couldn't be reached for comment.
