Photos 6-9: taken on Van Auken, the first 400 block after bridge on the north side. Then on the block over. Only way through for me was on Fullerton. Finally parked my car on North End because I got stuck again. Walked through 3 feet of standing water. Then walked home. Changed into water clothes, went back and found another way home (Fullerton) -- submitted by Amber Alvarado.

Photo 29:College View area (Alexander Blvd). We have dealt with over 13 years of backyard flooding, each year it gets worse. This was just the very start of the flooding at 5 p.m. We now hook up three pumps in the yard to stop it from coming into the basement windows. Submitted by Patty Ilg
Photo 30: Looking at new construction next door, the underground storm water storage area is right where all the standing water is. By 7pm it was well over 1 foot deep. -Patty Ilg
Photo 31: Looking at the city owned easement with drainage installed in the corner. This did not drain at all until after 8pm tonight. We had 3 pumps going to keep the water from getting deeper. -Patty Ilg

Photos 57-59: This is our backyard on West Eggleston Avenue. The water runs off of the parking lot behind doc Ryan’s and into our yards. The sewers also were bubbling over into our yards. Has happened for the past couple years with no change. Submitted by Thomas Lindstrom.
Photos 60, 61: 200 block of May Street, flooded back yard in 200 block of May Street. Submitted by William Reichert.
Photos 62-64: This is in front of my house on Madison between Fairfield and Hawthorne, this happens during every heavy rain and this isn’t the worse it’s been, in fact the water normally comes up over the side walks. I don’t know what amazes me more, why the City won’t fix this problem or why people go out of their way to speed thru this when they can just go around the block and follow drier streets. Submitted by Bob Peruzzo.
Video by Marizza from Stone Park.
City better do something about this block. We were close to getting water in our front door once again cause of the sewers. Neighbors have to open the caps and kids easily could drown. -Patch reader
