Synapse House- A New Nonprofit Organization in Elmhurst for Brain Injuries
Brief information about Synapse House and our upcoming Caregiver Boot Camps.

Synapse House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing long term support and services to those with acquired brain injury and the families that provide their care. Our mission is to reconnect individuals with brain injuries or stroke back into life, the community, and the workplace through the use of productive activities programs that help maximize rehabilitation, and strengthen the ability to adapt and compensate.
A typical day for a member might include reaching out to donors to thank them for their contribution, putting together mailings of future fundraising activities, assisting the culinary unit with making lunch for the day, or helping with maintenance around the clubhouse. Our members are key to survival of the organization and work side by side with associates to complete the tasks necessary, no matter how big or small, to maintain and propel the organization forward while meeting their own goals through this productive work.
On March 28, 2015 and May 2, 2015 Synapse House will be having our Caregiver Boot Camps which are designed to provide support and information to caregivers for persons with brain injury or stroke. These day long events include local speakers on a variety of topics, a luncheon social time and a problem solving session addressing specific concerns special to individual families and their needs. A variety of resources will be available during the luncheon.
