York High Principal Likely Leaving
If approved by the school board, Erin DeLuga would start her new job at Lake Zurich High School in July.
ELMHURST, IL — Erin DeLuga, principal of York High School, has been named as the choice for the new principal at Lake Zurich High School, contingent on the school board's approval next week, according to a report in the Daily Herald. She will start July 1. She has been the principal of York High since 2015.
When she was hired in Elmhurst, she was the associate principal of instruction at Wheeling High School in Township High School District 214, a position she had held since 2011. DeLuga also formerly led the English and fine arts division at Prospect High School from 2007 to 2011. Before her administrative roles, she taught English and served as the speech team coach at Wheeling, St. Charles North High School and Marian Catholic High School. While at Marian, she also served as an assistant varsity girls basketball and assistant varsity girls track coach. As a collegiate athlete, she participated in track and rugby.
