Chicago Man Faces Felony Charge for Evanston Bank Robbery
Dewayne L. Tucker is accused of robbing the BMO Harris Bank on Maple Avenue Wednesday.

The man Evanston police found in another person’s Callan Avenue residence Wednesday afternoon has been charged in federal court in connection with the bank robbery that occurred earlier that day.
According to the FBI, Dewayne L. Tucker, 25, whose last known address was in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood, was charged in U.S. District Court Thursday morning with one count of Bank Robbery, a felony offense that could land him up to 20 years in federal prison.
Evanston police reported Wednesday a robber entered the BMO Harris Bank at 1638 Maple Avenue shortly after noon and approached a bank teller, made a demand for money and threatened to shoot the teller if the teller did not comply with his requests. After taking an undetermined amount of money. the robber left the bank on foot.

Officers located a man who fit the bank’s description, later identified as Tucker, at the South Boulevard CTA train station shortly after. But when they tried to apprehend him, he ran away - later to be found at the residence.
Tucker was ordered held pending his next court appearance, which is scheduled for Monday, March 16, at 1 p.m.
