Husband of Librarian Killed in Crash Files Suit
Paul Magura contends motorcycle driver was going too fast when he hit and killed his wife, Gay "Gigi" Galich last summer.

The husband of an Evanston Public Library children’s librarian who died in a crash while riding her bicycle to work last year has sued the driver.
Evanston police had previously stated Gay “Gigi” Galich, 55 was riding the bicycle eastbound in the 600 block of Church Street in the designated bike lane on June 30 when she crossed the street mid-block, right into the path of a motorcycle driven by Alexander E. Thorne. Galich died in the crash and Thorne was not charged.

But that isn’t stopping Paul M. Magura, Galich’s husband, who filed the lawsuit Thursday in the Cook County Circuit Court alleging Thorne drove too fast for conditions, failed to keep a sufficient lookout and failed to control his motorcycle, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The three-count suit claims negligence and seeks more than $150,000.
