Man Sentenced To 12 Years For Evanston Knifepoint Robberies
The 37-year-old man was convicted of robbing drugstores in Chicago and Evanston, including the same CVS twice in a week.

SKOKIE, IL ā A 37-year-old man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for robbing drugstores in Evanston and Chicago last year after pleading guilty Tuesday, prosecutors told the Evanston Review. Hilton D. Corins, of the 7700 block of Bolton Way in Hanover Park, was arrested on Aug. 16 outside the CVS pharmacy in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue and charged with armed robbery.
It was the second time in a week he had tried to rob the same location with a knife, so one of the cashiers recognized him when he pulled out a knife and came around behind the counter, police said. He fled without getting any money, and police arrested him nearby in the 1200 block of Harvard Terrace.

Prosecutors said Corins also pleaded guilty Tuesday to robbing a Walgreens in Chicago during the same time period. According to the Evanston Review, they said Corins admitted being involved in the earlier robbery Aug. 9 and apologized in court for his actions. His 12-year sentence for the two crimes in Evanston will run concurrently with a sentence of 10 years in state prison for the robbery of the Chicago drugstore.
