'Overwhelming Support' From Public in Helping Families Displaced by Apartment Fire
The Evanston Fire Department commended the community for answering their call for donations with rooms full of needed items.

EVANSTON, IL - A community effort helped the recovery process for the multiple families victimized by an apartment fire last month.
The Evanston community collectively donated numerous items, including a room full of clothes and toys, to the families who lost their own belongings in a significant fire that engulfed an apartment in the 635 Sherman Ave. and displaced 18 of its residents on Dec. 5 after the Evanston Fire Department opened their doors to five of its fire stations to store the donations.
