Family Members Plea To Mom of Missing Baby: 'Do The Right Thing'

Foster mom and family members plea with birth mother accused of abducting her infant daughter Royalty Wolf to return baby.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- The desperate search continues for a three-month-old baby believed abducted by her biological mother. Friends and the foster mother of three-month-old Royalty Wolf gathered Sunday afternoon in Evergreen Park to remind the public that the endangered baby is still missing. The baby is believed to be in danger.

Royalty hasn’t been seen since May 14, when when the and her mother, Mikequera Randolph, 24, reportedly stepped into the hallway of her apartment and disappeared with the child during a home visit supervised by the Department of Children and Family Services. A $1,500 reward is being offered for information leading to baby Royalty’s safe return.

Royalty’s foster mother said on the day of the home visit, which she says never should had happened, DCFS picked up Royalty to bring her over to Randolph’s apartment in the in the 1400 block of South Avers in Chicago for a home visit.

“There’s so much adrenaline happening right now,” the foster mom said, who asked that her name not be used out of privacy concerns for Royalty’s older brother, who also lives with her. “[Randolph] desperately did not want to give the baby up to DCFS. I know at this point she’ll do anything to make sure the baby doesn’t come back.”

The foster mom told Patch that DCFS is investigating what happened during the supervised visit to allow the mother to allegedly run off with the baby. Randolph left her cell phone and wallet behind. Up until a few months ago, Randolph lived in Lafayette, IN, located a two hours’ drive south of Chicago. In addition to Indiana, Randolph has ties to Atlanta, GA, and Kansas.

Randolph reportedly has an extensive arrest history for drug arrests and distribution of drugs, according to the foster mom. Randolph is also alleged to have violence in her background, mostly to other adults, but is not known to have harmed or abused her children.

“I know [Randolph] has been asked by DCFS for a couple of years to participate in refused therapy,” the foster mother said. “It has been hindrance to the children being put back in her care. She has serious mental health issues which is why she’s involved in the system.”

According to the foster mom and other foster care parents, Randolph and the baby were spotted at the Ford City Shopping Center the day after the mother is said to have disappeared. Randolph was also reportedly seen near 95th Street and Kedzie Avenue in Evergreen Park late last week.

Grim-faced Chicago police detectives from CPD’s Area Central Special Victims Unit said they haven’t been able to confirm the sightings.

“We’ll work everyday until we get her back,” a CPD detective said. “”We’ve been reaching out to the mother’s family. We’re working around the clock to get her back. We’re not going to stop.”

Julianne Neely, who adopted Royalty’s older biological sister and helped organize the vigil, pleaded with Randolph to do the right thing.

“We cannot fathom going into another week without her safe in her foster home,” Neely said. “Mikequera, if you’re listening, we know your love your children but sometimes love means you have to do what’s best for them, even if it’s not what’s best for you. Do the right thing, do it the right way. Someone knows something and needs to come forward.”

Royalty’s aunt, Debbie House, also delivered a message to Randolph.

“We know you love Royalty,” House said. “Please, for her safety and your safety, she needs medical attention, milk, diapers, you cannot provide her. Do the right thing for us, please. We can work it out later. Do it the right way to get custody of your child.”

Community activist Andrew Holmes said a $1,500 reward is being offered for information leading to safe return of Royalty and Randolph. He asked the baby’s mother to call the Chicago Police Department or notify family members on Facebook or social media to come and get her. Holmes also gave out a toll-free number, 800-883-5587, for Randolph or anyone with information to call.

“We’re not looking to incarcerate you or hurt you,” Holmes said. “We’re just trying to bond you back to your family. Do the right thing, help is here for you and your child.”

Many of the supporters attending the vigil came from the foster care community with children in tow. They launched pink heart-shaped balloons in Royalty’s honor.
