EVERGREEN PARK, IL - One of the suspects in the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old man in the parking lot of the Walgreens store at 87th and Kedzie in Evergreen Park on Thursday was shot and killed in a shoot out on a Metra train in north suburban Deerfield late Friday night, according to police sources and an ABC-7-Chicago report.
The suspect, who has not been identified yet, was located by agents with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force on a Metra Milwaukee District North Line train from Chicago to Fox Lake at 10:30 p.m. as the train stopped at the Lake Cook Road station in Deerfield. An unnamed police source said investigators were led to the train by using a cell phone tower.
ABC-7 reports the suspect was on the first floor of the train and went upstairs after being approached by agents. The suspect pulled out a gun and began shooting at the agents, who fired back and fatally wounded the man.
