Frankfort Trustee Keith Ogle Announces Run For Mayor
Ogle will run for Mayor of Frankfort in the April 2021 election.

FRANKFORT, IL — Current Frankfort Trustee Keith Ogle has announced he will run for Frankfort Mayor in the April 2021 election. Current Mayor Jim Holland recently announced that he will retire and will not run for mayor in April.
Ogle, along with his wife Kim, daughter Kristin and over a dozen supporters, recently made the announcement of his run for mayor at Arrowhead Bridge right across from Frankfort Village Hall.
“I am here with my family and a group of people who care deeply about Frankfort and want to keep our community strong,” Ogle said in a video announcing his candidacy.

Ogle and his family moved to Frankfort in 2005.
“We have watched the village grow into the kind of town we chose to live in and raise our family,” Ogle said in his candidacy announcement. “I picked this location to embark on this journey because to me, the Arrowhead Bridge behind us represents bridging our past with our future...and I am excited about our future.”

Ogle said the retirement announcement of Holland was a bit of a surprise to many, and in light of Holland’s decision to retire, he decided to run for mayor.
“After 22 years in public service, 16 years as Mayor, I think he has earned the right to retire, and we should all thank him for his dedication and service,” Ogle said.
Ogle was first appointed Village Clerk by Holland in July 2013, and then was appointed Village Trustee in 2015, replacing Todd Morgan. In 2017, he won his race for Village Trustee.
According to a release from his campaign, Ogle currently serves on the Land Use & Policy Committee as Chairman, and as the 911 Emergency Communications System Liaison.
Ogle said he wants to continue making Frankfort a better place to live, not just for today, but for tomorrow.
“We need a place for our young families as well as for our senior citizens, and everyone in between. I believe our community needs a smooth transition from the past to our future and I know I can be that person.”
As a part of the village board, Ogle has fought for clear and transparent government that is fair to everyone, a release from his campaign states. He credits the village’s strong financial picture to a conservative approach to budgeting and operations.
“I have worked with staff to keep the Village portion of the property tax bill low, while maintaining high standards and bringing in economic development that fits the community.”
In the coming weeks and months, Ogle will be seeking to assemble a team of like-minded individuals to assist him in providing stable, consistent leadership to Frankfort government.
“I believe our community needs a leader it can trust, and I know I am that person. I also believe our community needs a mayor who is willing to listen to all sides and make the best decision for our residents ahead of any personal agenda or inside deal making. That is the kind of mayor I will be, and I am well-prepared and ready for the challenges I believe lie ahead," he said in a release.
