• 'Racist Behavior Must Have Meaningful Consequences': IL Teacher Groups On Incident At LWE, H-F Football Game (patch.com) — Frankfort residents are grappling with the fallout from a racist incident at a Lincoln-Way East versus Homewood-Flossmoor football game, where students were recorded making monkey noises and gestures. Local leaders, including the Village of Frankfort and major Illinois education unions, are condemning the behavior, backing student protests, and calling for meaningful consequences and anti-racism efforts in schools and the community.
   

• 6-Year-Old Illinois Student Killed in School Bus Collision (stnonline.com) — A 6-year-old Grand Prairie Elementary student from Frankfort died Tuesday after being struck by her own school bus in a residential neighborhood, despite immediate CPR and hospital care. Frankfort School District 157-C kept schools open while bringing in extra social workers and psychologists so classmates, staff, and families across the village could grieve and get support following the tragedy.
   

• Casey Anthony attorney comments spark dispute in case linked to Lindsay Clancy (ctpost.com) — A Frankfort mother is being held without pretrial release after her 2-year-old son was found dead in their Brook Stone Court home, with prosecutors alleging she killed him while in a psychotic state. The case, which could draw a Will County jury that includes Frankfort residents, has prompted a judge to restrict what attorneys can say publicly because of intense media attention.
