• Frankfort's Hickory Creek Softball Team Takes Third Place At State (patch.com) — Frankfort residents can celebrate Hickory Creek Middle School's girls softball team after it clinched third place in the IESA Class 3A state finals, capping an 18-4 season. The team also captured regional and sectional titles, continuing a decade-long run of state tournament appearances and earning praise from coaches for strong pitching, hitting, and sportsmanship.
   

• 1 Dead After Early-Morning Crash In Frankfort: Cops (patch.com) — Residents in Frankfort are learning more about a deadly early-morning crash on Route 30 that left a 20-year-old Joliet resident dead and a 54-year-old Lockport driver seriously injured. Police detail how both heavily damaged vehicles ended up in the eastbound lanes, one on fire, and note that Route 30 was closed in both directions while the Lincoln-Way Area Crash Team investigates.
   

• 'Scary At The Prairie' Brings Costume Runs To Frankfort Park (patch.com) — Families in Frankfort can lace up for the "Scary at the Prairie" Halloween runs at Prairie Park on Oct. 17, with kids' dashes and a 5K for all ages.
