St. Peter Rockets Track and Field Completes Successful 2011 Season

The St. Peter Rockets Track and Field team finished a successful 2011 season by sending 8 athletes to the IESA (Illinois Elementary School Association) State Track and Field Championship Meet in East Peoria, IL.  Making the trip to state were the 8th Grade Girls 4x100 meter relay team of Kristyna Perillo, Jordan Mucha, Gloria Kliebhan and Olivia Rindone, the 7th Grade Girls 4x400 meter relay team of Maria Tavierne, Natalie Blank, Shea Vero and Bridget Byker, Kristyna Perillo in the 100 meter dash, Shea Vero in the 800 meter run and Maria Tavierne in the 1600 meter run.  The highlights of the meet were the 8th Girls 4x100 meter 20th place finish with a time of 57.81 and Maria Tavierne’s 13th place finish in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:55.74.

Despite many cancelled practices and a shortened season due to inclement spring weather, the St. Peter Rockets placed 1st at both of their regular season conference meets as well as a 3rd place finish by the 5th grade girls team at the conference championship.  A total of 14 St. Peter School records were broken in 2011. 

St. Peter School is a parochial Catholic School located in Geneva, IL and competes in the Aurora Conference and the IESA for Track and Field.
