The blaze broke out at Suncast on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to a chimney fire Friday afternoon at Suncast in Batavia.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at 3:40 p.m. at Suncast, which is located at 701 N. Kirk Road.

Fire crews first on scene saw flames coming from a steel chimney/vent pipe on the roof. They found that a fire had started in a vent stack from a furnace used to burn off powder coating from steel parts, according to a Batavia Fire Department press release.
