Citations, Arrests Made During Algonquin Roadside Safety Check

The results are in from a recent roadside safety check in Algonquin. The roadside safety check was conducted on Route 62 at Ryan Parkway from late on May 4 through the early morning hours of May 5. In total, 38 citations and arrests were made during the roadside safety check, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police.

Of the citations and arrests, four were cited for alcohol or drug offenses, eight were cited for registration offenses, seven violated driver's license offenses and 27 were cited for insurance violations, according to authorities. Also, there were 11 written warnings.

The roadside safety check was funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
