It's Spring….and that means our shelter partners are over "pup"ulated with unwanted dogs and puppies!
Safe Haven Dog Rescue does not have a physical location, we rely upon the generosity of families that open their homes to provide a temporary Safe Haven. We can only save as many pups as we have foster homes.
These dogs and puppies pictured have the chance to come to Illinois on Saturday May 18th, but we need committed foster homes to make that happen. We are asking the community to help us help them!

Jacob & Ethan
These two puppies are said to be beagle mixes. They are sweet and energetic boys
Bodhi
Soft and sweet and looks like a teddy bear is what the shelter has told us about Bohdi. He's 3 years old, calm & house broken.
Joby
One year old and 40lbs, this Aussie shepherd mix has soft and silky hair. He's heartworm negative and very friendly.
Kercheck
This guy needs a place to recover from his broken leg. He loves to play with other dogs. The vet says his leg is healing nicely and he'll be back to playing with other dogs in no time!
Rio, Riva, Rory
These boxer mix siblings are 6 months old and 25-30lbs. They are sweet and a little shy. They were dumped out in the country and thankfully someone found them and took them in!
Sam & Simon
Black Lab mixes. They are 4 months old and playful puppies. They'd love to get out of the shelter this weekend!
- Have you been thinking about adding a canine companion to your family but not certain?
- Or have you ever wondered if your dog would like a playmate?
- Would you like to have the first choice to adopt if the dog or puppy is a good fit?
NOW is your chance!
Safe Haven Dog Rescue pays for all vetting (done locally in Geneva, South Elgin, Wheaton, Naperville and Elmhurst) and provides you with a crate, collar, leash, food, treats, toys, puppy pads, and more while you foster.
Fostering is the most life giving thing you can do for a dog or puppy! It is a very rewarding experience that will make a huge impact on their life. By becoming a foster you are saving 2 lives - the animal you bring into your home while he or she waits to be adopted, and the animal who gets to take your foster's place in the shelter.
For more information about fostering or for a foster home application, please email erin.safehavendogs@gmail.com ASAP...we need to know before Thursday (5/16) at 6pm in order to get them vetted and on transport.
If you are not in a position to foster, please SHARE this information to help us find fosters!
