Fabyan Elementary School is the proud recipient of the Bowler’s Education In-School Bowling Grant, a collection of in-school bowling kits that will be rotated throughout Geneva’s six elementary schools. Valued at $1,200, the equipment includes six carpet bowling lanes, rubberized bowling balls and pins, and a curriculum guide.

In his grant application, Fabyan Elementary School Physical Education Teacher Mike Graham wrote, “Bowling is considered a lifetime activity which allows people of all ages to participate regardless of skill or ability level ... This adaptability component of the game allows for it to reach such a diverse population.”

The bowling equipment will be housed at Fabyan Elementary School and rotated for use throughout the district’s six elementary schools. Fabyan’s bowling unit is scheduled to begin in October.

“When introduced at an early age, such as in an elementary PE class, bowling has the opportunity to become an activity that kids can enjoy for life,” Mr. Graham wrote. “These early childhood experiences provide the foundation on which to build lasting healthy habits.”
