Fire Causes Extensive Damage to St. Charles Restaurant

The Office Dining and Spirits in St. Charles is expected to be closed for awhile following a Wednesday morning blaze, fire officials said.

A fire early Wednesday morning caused extensive damage to The Office Dining and Spirits in St. Charles, according to the Daily Herald.

Firefighters were called to the restaurant, at 201 E. Main St., at 6:02 a.m. and found a blaze coming from above the ceiling in the kitchen area, the newspaper reports.

“We are currently turning the business back over to the owners though there is extensive damage to the kitchen and the restaurant will be closed for quite awhile,” said Scott Swanson, assistant fire chief for the St. Charles Fire Department, in a Daily Herald video.

The blaze remains under investigation, caused about $125,000 in damage and is not considered suspicious in nature, according to the Kane County Chronicle. No one was inside the building at the time of the blaze and no one was injured in the fire.
