Geneva High School Ranked Among the Best High Schools in State

U.S. News and World Report released its annual best high schools list Monday.

GENEVA, IL - Geneva Community High School was ranked among the top 100 high schools in Illinois by U.S. News and World Report, which released its annual list Monday night.

Geneva High School was ranked 69th in the state and No. 1,645 nationally. Compared to nearby schools, Geneva ranked higher than Batavia Senior High School, which came in at No. 93 on the list, but ranked lower than St. Charles high schools. St. Charles North High School was ranked as the 25th best high school in the state and St. Charles East was ranked as the 49th best high school in Illinois.

"The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."

The report includes information about curriculum, test scores and student demographics.

In the state, Northside College Preparatory High Schoolcame in first. The No. 1 high school in the U.S. rankings is theSchool for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas, Texas. Adlai Stevenson High School was ranked as the best suburban high school in the state--coming in at No. 5 on the Best High Schools list.
