Geneva Man Ends Standoff with Cops Peacefully Wednesday

Charges may be filed in the Syril Drive incident.

A 66-year-old Geneva man held a SWAT team at bay for several hours on Wednesday, but the standoff ended peacefully. Charges may be brought against the man, who lives in the 200 block of Syril Drive. The man argued with his wife, who told police he fired a handgun after she left the house. Williamsburg Elementary, Faith Christian and St. Peter Catholic schools were on soft lockdown during the episode.
