Geneva McDonald's Reopens Following Weekend Fire
The blaze early Saturday forced the fast food restaurant on Randall Road to close for much of the day.

A Geneva McDonald’s that closed for much of the day Saturday following a fire has reopened for business, the Kane County Chronicle reports.

The blaze reportedly started behind a grill at the fast food restaurant at 1812 S. Randall Road, at 4 a.m. Saturday, according to a city of Geneva press release. The fire quickly moved up through the ductwork and outside the restaurant despite the building’s fire suppression system activating.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames in the grill and ductwork within 20 minutes, according to the news release.

Damage estimates were not immediately available but the blaze was contained to the vent system and exhaust fan located on the roof of the building, fire officials said.
No one was injured in the blaze
The restaurant reopened at about 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the Kane County Chronicle.
Firefighters from Batavia, Elburn, Geneva and St. Charles responded to the blaze.
