Heartland School-Supply Pickup Is Monday, Aug. 12

Supply Pack Pick-Up

Supply Pack Pick-Up is on Monday, Aug. 12, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the Heartland Elementary Gym. Any school packs not picked up will be stored in Heartland's Conference Room and available for pick-up during office hours. Parents are asked to pick up school supply packs before the first day of school.

Family Orientation

Heartland Elementary will hold a New Family Orientation on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Heartland LMC. Families new to Heartland Elementary are invited to a special presentation about the school by Principal Adam Law. Then, several Heartland Elementary 5th graders will be on hand to give families tours of the school, and the PTO Executive Board Members will be there to introduce themselves as well. Hope to see you there!

Playdates for Incoming Kindergarteners!

If you have a child who is entering kindergarten this year, please bring your child to join his/her class for a playground playdate! It is a great time to meet other kids and their families who will be in your child’s Kindergarten class this year. Below is a schedule for the incoming Kindergarten playdates:

Ms. Walker’s PM class - Friday, Aug 16th, 6-7 p.m.
Ms. Walker’s AM class - Saturday, Aug 17th, 9-10 a.m.
Mrs. Fordonski’s AM class – Saturday, Aug 17th, 10-11 a.m.

This year all three times will meet at the kindergarten playground on the west side of the school (the one that can be seen from Heartland Drive). If it rains the event will move to the Heartland Gym.

First Day Coffee & Conversation

Coffee & Conversation on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. After dropping off your kids on the first day, come and join other Heartland parents for coffee and pastries in the gym. It’s a great way to meet new parents and to reconnect with old friends.

Ice Cream Social

Back to School Ice Cream Social is on Thursday, Aug. 22 , from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The PTO will provide Dilly Bars for the kids.

Curriculum Night

Curriculum Night is Thursday, Aug. 29, 7 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. Heartland Elementary will once again hold its annual Curriculum Night. Parents are invited to visit the school, meet the teachers, ask questions and learn about upcoming school year.

After School  Enrichment

Would you like your student to gain global communication skills and exposure to other cultures? Enroll him or her in Language Star’s Spanish and/or French classes, returning to Heartland this Fall. Language Star’s FunImmersion® program uses 100 percent immersion to help students learn to speak the language as their native-speaking teachers do.
