Information Sought on Suspicious Field Fire Behind Sam's Club
Police say the fire was intentionally set.

Fire officials are looking for the public’s help in solving a crime after they say a fire was intentionally set in a field behind Sam’s Club in Batavia last week.
Three fire departments -- Elburn, Geneva, and Batava -- responded to the blaze, which was reported at 10 p.m. on Nov. 5 near the Sam’s Club, 501 N. Randall Road, according to a Batavia Fire Department press release.
While the field fire did not cause any damage, fire officials said it did tie up fire department personnel for an extended length of time and could have spread to surrounding businesses.
