KANE COUNTY, IL - As polling places closed Tuesday night, and votes are tallied, Patch.com will be working through the night to provide you with the latest results.

Besides the presidential election, which everyone will be watching closely, Kane County also has many state senate seats and congressional races, which represent towns in Kane County, that are up for grabs.

In the race for Kane County Coroner, incumbent L. Robert Russell beat Deputy Coroner Tao “Tom” Martinez. With 285 of 291 precincts reporting, Martinez had 81,534 votes compared to Russell's 94,844 votes, according to unofficial results posted late Tuesday night on the Kane County Clerk's website and the city of Aurora's Election Commission results page.

The elected official is tasked with conducting professional, medicolegal death investigations including determining decedents’ causes and manners of death, identifying them, notifying their next-of-kin relatives, protecting their property and assisting survivors through advocacy group referrals, when necessary.

Several Kane County Board seats are up for election. You can check Kane County results as they come in on the Kane County Clerk’s Office website. A portion of Kane County race totals are also calculated by the city of Aurora Election Commission and those results can be found here.
