Kane County Man Reported Missing

The sheriff's office is asking for the public's help in locating the man.

Kane County authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a 64-year-old man who was reported missing Monday morning by his wife.

It is believed Daniel Yohnke walked away from his family home on Peppertree Lane in Elgin Township, according to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office press release. He has attempted suicide in the past.

Daniel is believed to be on foot in the immediate Elgin Township area.

The sheriff’s office and K9 units have searched the area but have been unable to locate Daniel. The Kane County Office of Emergency Management is responding to the area to help with the search.

Daniel is described as a white male who is 6-feet, two-inches tall and 175 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair and a surgical walking shoe on his left foot. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and grey boxer shorts. He has a distinctive shuffle when we walks, according to the news release.

Anyone with information on Daniel’s whereabouts is asked to call 911, according to the news release.
