Batavia Man Faces Child Porn Charges
Ernesto Navarro-Romero of Batavia has been charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

A 39-year-old Batavia man faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography following his involvement with a minor victim during a party at his house this past week, police said Friday.
Ernesto Navarro-Romero, of 1102 Lorlyn Circle in Batavia, has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography/victim under 13 years of age, which is a Class X felony, and five counts of possession of child pornography/victim under 13 years of age, which is a Class 2 felony, according to a Batavia Police Department press release.
Navarro-Romero is in custody at the Kane County Adult Corrections Center and is expected to appear for a bond hearing Friday.

Police learned of the incident involving the minor, an acquaintance to Navarro-Romero, after it was brought to the attention of a school social worker, according to the news release. No further details were immediately available and an investigation into Navarro-Romero is ongoing.
A Class X felony carries a sentence of six to 30 years in prison while a Class 2 felony carries a sentence of three to seven years in prison.
