Man Faces Home Invasion, Battery Charges After Injuring Batavia Resident: Police
Police were called to the 700 block of Walnut Avenue early Wednesday.

A 31-year-old Batavia man has been charged with home invasion and aggravated battery after police said he forced his way into a home and got into a physical fight over personal matters, injuring a Batavia resident.
Jose E. Garcia, of 718 Walnut St. in Batavia, was taken into custody at the scene of the incident in the 700 block of Walnut Street after police were called to the home at 3:18 a.m. Wednesday.
The victim received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released, according to a Batavia Police Department press release.

Garcia was taken to the Kane County Jail.
He could face six to 30 years in prison if convicted on the home invasion charge and between one to three years in prison on the aggravated battery charge, according to the news release.
