Mark Your Calendar for 'The Princess Bride' at GHS
Shows are at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 7, 8 and 9 and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov 10.
The Princess Bride is my favorite book in all the world.
How is such a thing possible?
"Fencing. Fighting. Torture. Poison. True Love. Hate. Revenge. Giants. Hunters. Bad men. Good men. Beautifulest ladies. Snakes. Spiders. Beasts of all natures and descriptions. Pain. Death. Brave men. Coward men. Strongest men. Chases. Escapes. Lies. Truths. Passion. Miracles."
And that's just for starters.
I re-read the sword fight scene (Page 107 in the hardcover, starting with "Inigo") every now and then, just to remind me what writing can and should be. Many people love the movie (my children included), but for me it's the book, and the six-fingered sword dancing in the moonlight, always and forever.
Flash forward. 2013. Autumn. And a Geneva School District 304 press release.
Geneva High School will present an affectionate — and funny — story of revenge, giants, torture, escapes, miracles and "twoo luv" when it presents “The Princess Bride.”
