Three St. Charles Businesses Fail Tobacco Compliance Checks

The three sales clerks were issued citations.

The St. Charles Police Department this past week conducted tobacco compliance inspections and cited three sales clerks for selling tobacco to a minor, according to police. 

On May 19, the St. Charles Police Department checked 36 business and cited the following sales clears for "Unlawful Sale of Tobacco to a Minor:" 

  • Carlos E. Villagomez, BP Gas Station 1505 Lincoln Highway
  • Lady Elizabeth Jimenez-Perez, BP Gas Station 1660 W. Main Street
  • Clerk Scott L. O’Brien, 7-Eleven 1705 W. Main Street    

The inspections were conducted in a partnership with the Illinois Liquor Commission through a 2012-14 grant. The St. Charles Police Department has been awarded this grant and conducted the inspections every year since 2004.  

All of those cited are expected in court on June 19.
