Trial Delayed for Geneva Man Accused of Killing Wife, Leaving Body on Railroad Tracks
Shadwick King faces two counts of first-degree murder for accusations that he killed his wife, Kathleen King, in July.

The trial for a 47-year-old man accused of killing his wife and then leaving her body on the railroad tracks less than a half-mile from their Geneva home has been re-scheduled for Feb. 2, the Kane County Chronicle reports.
During a court appearance on Wednesday before Kane County Judge James Hallock, the jury trial for Shadwick King was moved from Dec. 8 to the February date, the newpaper reports.
King, of the 800 block of Oak Street in Geneva, is being held on a $1.5 million bond on two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, Kathleen King, 32, of Geneva, according to Kane County State’s Attorney Office.

Authorities said Kathleen died of asphyxiation at some point after 5 a.m. on July 6.
A Metra conductor spotted Kathleen’s body after 6:30 a.m. on July 6 on the Union Pacific Railway tracks south of Esping Park, 227 Briar Lane, according to Geneva Police. Police responded to the tracks at 6:50 a.m. where they determined Kathleen was dead.

If convicted, King could be sentenced to 20 to 60 years in prison, prosecutors said. The murder is the first in Geneva since July 2, 1975.
