Two Fires Reported in Batavia Over 12-Hour Span
Firefighters responded to a garage fire Tuesday night and to a structure fire Wednesday morning.

Firefigthers responded to two blazes in Batavia within a 12-hour span.
The first fire was reported in the 1300 block of Brandywine Circle at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday.
When firefigthers arrived, they found two garbage cans that were on fire in the garage. The blaze was quickly extinguished and no one was injured in the fire, according to a Batavia Fire Department press release.

The garage walls and door opener had heat damage from the fire. The blaze was not considered suspicious and remains under investigation.
The second blaze was reported in the 1300 block of Georgetown Drive in Geneva at at 6:06 a.m. Wednesday.

When firefighters arrived they found the wall behind an air conditioning unit on fire in the rear of the structure, according to a Batavia Fire Department press release.
The blaze was quickly extinguished and no one was injured in the fire. Fire officials said the blaze appeared to have started in or around the electrical disconnect box for the air-conditioning unit.
The blaze caused an estimated $11,000 in damage.
