"The Voice" Finalist Keith Semple Opens the Summer Concert Series at Geneva Commons

Geneva Commons 14th Annual Free Summer Concert Series to be Held on Sundays & Wednesdays in June

Free photo booth, Zumba dance parties and restaurant discounts featured

GENEVA, Ill. (June 3, 2016) – Sunday, June 5, marks the kickoff to the 14th annual Summer Concert Series at Geneva Commons in Geneva, Ill. The free outdoor concerts will continue each Wednesday and Sunday evening through June 29 in the shopping center’s courtyard between Houlihan’s and Bar Louie. Sunday concerts begin at 5:00 p.m. (except June 12), with Wednesday night concerts beginning at 6:30 p.m. Concertgoers are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.

The summer concert schedule, weather permitting, is as follows:

Sun., June 5 – Keith Semple Band (5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) A finalist on NBC’s hit show The Voice, Semple covers hits from the 60s to today.

Wed., June 8 – Neverly Brothers (6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.) perform retro rock ‘n roll from 50s favorites to the 60s British invasion.

Sun., June 12 – 7th Heaven (5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) offers danceable renditions of Def Leppard, The Beatles, Journey and U2. Summer Monkey Band, a local band of six young siblings, will open for 7th Heaven at 4:00 p.m.

Wed., June 15 – The Hat Guys (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) play everything from rock ‘n roll to country, disco to hip-hop, 60’s to current hits. They encourage audiences to dance and sing along.

Sun., June 19 – Hillbilly Rockstarz (5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) play the latest country hits, plus classic favorites from Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Johnny Cash and more.

Wed., June 22 – Stereo Heart (6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.) crosses decades and genres, from R&B to country, dance, rock and pop.

Sun., June 26 – Hi-Infidelity (5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.) plays the hits from the 80s and today, covering Journey, Bon Jovi, REO Speedwagon, Bruno Mars, Maroon 5 and others.

Wed., June 29 – Serendipity (6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.), an all-girl band that combines euphonic vocals with a power pop musical kick.

Other doings…

VIP Digital Photo Booth– During the Sunday shows, concertgoers can have a free interactive digital photo booth experience and have their photos posted on social media.

Restaurant Discounts – Many of the eateries at Geneva Commons are offering special discounts during the concerts, including Bar Louie, California Pizza Kitchen, Claddagh Irish Pub, Corner Bakery Café, Houlihan's, Jamba Juice, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Yogen Früz. Coupons are available at the Mall Office, located near H&M. Mall Office hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Sidewalk Sale – Also planned is the annual Sizzlin’ Summer Sidewalk Sale on the last weekend of the concert series, Saturday and Sunday, June 25-26, with special sales both on the sidewalks and inside many Geneva Commons stores.

Zumba Parties – Northwestern Medicine’s Delnor Health & Fitness center will conduct Zumba parties at Geneva Commons on Friday, June 10, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday, June 26, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. An optional donation of $5 per class is suggested, with proceeds going to a local child advocacy non-profit.

Geneva Commons is home to over 70 stores and restaurants, and is located at 602 Commons Drive in Geneva, Ill. Shopping hours are Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sundays 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (some store hours vary).
