3 Charged With Stealing THC Cartridges At Gunpoint In Glen Ellyn

Police say the men stole THC cartridges at gunpoint from a man who arranged a meetup via Snapchat to sell them in Glen Ellyn.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Three men are facing felony charges after police say they stole THC cartridges at gunpoint from a man in Glen Ellyn Sunday. Semaj Jones, 19, of Hillside, Samuel Holland, 18, of Hillside, and Kyeren George, 19, of Westchester, were charged with armed robbery in connection with the incident.

Jones, Holland and George were arrested after police say the victim followed them after the robbery.

According to DuPage County State's Attorney's Office, the man went on Snapchat and set up a meeting with someone he didn't know to sell THC cartridges. When the man got to the meetup location on Cedar Lane, police say Jones got into the front seat of his car and displayed a gun. Police say George then got into the car and pointed a gun at the back of the man's head.

George and Jones then stole cash and THC cartridges from the man before fleeing in a car that was driven by Holland, according to police. Police say the victim then pursued them while calling 911.

Police then pulled the fleeing car over and took George, Jones and Holland into custody. Police say they recovered two loaded Glock 9mm handguns from the car.

DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement, "If anyone thinks that the current health crisis will in some way hamper police operations in DuPage County, the quick apprehension of these three defendants sends the message loud and clear that our law enforcement officers will continue to protect and serve the residents of DuPage County."

Jones and George are currently being held in DuPage County Jail on $500,000 bond. Holland is being held on $350,000 bond.
